The Union Fair is a staple of a midcoast Maine summer. As kids in the ‘80s and ‘90s, spending their summers in Waldoboro, siblings Ian and Claire Cheney submitted their art to the Union Fair competition every year, hoping for a ribbon in the Exhibition Hall.

Entrants had to pick a category: watercolor, charcoal, sculpture, photography. Art that was a little harder to classify had its own, somewhat mysterious category: other media - other.

Today, as a physical space in downtown Camden, co-curated by Ian and Claire, Other Media Other is dedicated to sustaining a spirit of inclusivity, creativity, and mystery.

Other Media Other an evolving venue that nurtures the creativity of our midcoast Maine community, whether through film screenings, poetry readings, art shows, pop-up shops, or simple gatherings of people who need a place to come together.
